Senator Abdala Accuses Provincial Government of Complicity in Public Harassment

National Senator for San Luis, Bartolomé Abdala, denounced having once again been the victim of a violent escrache carried out by a group he defined as "militants of hatred and confrontation," who had "the complicity" of his province's government.

The legislator stated that "the vast majority of San Luis citizens do not share these violent methods" and described it as "sad" that the International Women's Day is being used as a pretext, "dishonoring the lineage of the brave women of our province, who are alien to these types of vandalism."

In a statement, Abdala pointed to the provincial government, asserting that "it will have to give explanations regarding the complacency and even complicity with those who promote these intimidation practices."

In this sense, he denounced that the acts of harassment he experienced in public "are occurring in the face of the exasperating passivity of the security forces, in a clear example of a liberated zone."

"At a time when I have the responsibility of serving as Vice President of Argentina, it is especially concerning that these acts of intimidation against my person are taking place," he stated.

"It is clear that the province's security forces are far from fulfilling an efficient role," he added.

"If this can happen to me, it is evident that citizens can feel completely unprotected and vulnerable."

"That is why it is necessary to redouble our efforts to guarantee security," he expressed.

Regarding the events that occurred, Abdala anticipated that he will resort to the Justice system: "I have never judicialized politics, but today I feel compelled to appear before the federal court, due to my position, to repair the affront suffered and preserve citizen peace," he said.

And he concluded: "They are not going to scare me. I will continue to work with more strength than ever to accompany the transformation led by President Javier Milei, aimed at making Argentina the freest country in the world."
